Individualized Intervention in Diabetes (2-hours per week for 4 weeks, $400)
This educational workshop is for people newly diagnosed with, overwhelmed by, or struggling to manage their diabetes. The following are covered:

- Types of insulin therapy.
- Complications of diabetes.
- Depression and diabetes.
- How is diabetes treated?
- Understanding hemoglobin A1c, blood glucose, blood pressure, cholesterol triglycerides, and urinary albumin goals.
- The role of diet and exercise in treatment.
- Understanding the diabetic diet.
- What is hypoglycemia?
- How does one treat hypoglycemia?
- How does one check one’s blood glucose?
- How to inject insulin.
- What to do when sick.
- Alcohol and stress.
- Eye and foot care for the diabetic.
- When are the services of a certified diabetes educator needed?
- Incorporating stress management into your life.
- Everything your physician wishes you knew but doesn’t have time to teach you!
